Cryotherapy is medical non-surgical treatment involving the removal of skin lesions by using liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin cells until they die. The freezing treatment normally involves 5-30 seconds of the liquid spray being applied with the CryoPenâ„¢; a further freezing treatment can be applied after a short break dependent on the skin type and the nature of the problem.
In the days following treatment with the CryoPenâ„¢, the treated skin lesion may become darker and will begin to crust. The crusted skin lesion will eventually flake away; this could take anywhere between 1-6 weeks. Healing time varies from patient to patient and is largely dependent on the skin type and the skin lesion that has been treated. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for 4-6 weeks following your treatment to review the results of the Cryotherapy and assess whether a further treatment as required. Any treatments performed at review appointments are free of charge.
All Cryotherapy treatments at the clinic are carried out our medical director, Dr Shabnam Fazal. Our Professional Led Clinic offers complete wrap-around patient care from consultation to aftercare. All treatments include complimentary follow-up appointments with Dr Shabnam Fazal to attend to any concerns, review results & ensure patient satisfaction.
Following consultation and examination of your skin, we will advise on the most effective treatment plan. Several lesions can be treated safely in one session including multiple seborrhoeic warts, moles and skin tags on all areas of the body.
Further treatments may be required after the initial Cryotherapy session; We will also schedule a follow up review at 3-6 weeks to review your results following the Cryotherapy procedure. Any further treatments performed at review appointments are inclusive in the price you pay at your initial appointment.

There are several options for Keloid treatment and removal; these include steroid injection, excision and cryotherapy. There is currently no evidence that any single form of treatment is better than another but different treatment options can successfully help to flatten them and reduce irritation.

WHAT IS A KELOID SCAR?
When a wound heals, it leaves a scar. A keloid is the name given to a scar that overgrows & becomes larger than the original wound.
It is not uncommon for any wound to form a slightly thick & raised scar – this is called a hypertrophic scar.
Unlike hypertrophic scars, keloids spread beyond the original area of skin damage & may be permanent.
An estimated 10% of people experience keloid scarring. Men and women are equally affected, but they are more common in people with darker skin tones (especially those of African, Hispanic or Asian descent). Other risk factors associated with keloid formation include being pregnant and being younger than 30 years of age.
KELOID SCARS ARE MORE COMMON IN PEOPLE WITH DARKER SKIN TONES
CAUSES CAN INCLUDE:
Acne & Chickenpox Scars
Burns & Skin Trauma
Ear Piercing
Surgical Incision & Vaccination Sites
